Are you under the age of 18? A solo artist or a band?

To be in with a chance to be crowned Starlight on the Moor, simply send a video of your performance by Friday 15th August, to: hello@musiconthemoor.fun
Entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts, and the 2 bands shortlisted notified by Friday 12th September.
Then it's over to you and the people's vote! The 2 shortlisted bands will be invited to perform at Starlight on the Moor on Saturday 27th September at Music on the Moor, Hartsmoor Cricket Club - the winners will be decided by crowd reaction (so make sure to bring all your mates!)
Competition rules
1. Who can enter the competition?
Anyone aged 18 or under at the time of the event can enter—solo artists, duos, or bands.
2. How do we enter?
Submit a video of your performance (original song or cover) by Friday 15th August via hello@musiconthemoor.fun Include the act name, age(s), and contact details.
3. Is there a fee to enter?
No—entry is completely free.
4. Can we submit a cover or does it need to be an original song?
Both are welcome! Just let us know in your submission which it is.
5. What kind of music are you looking for?
We’re open to all styles—from indie and folk to pop and acoustic—just make sure it’s suitable for a family-friendly audience.
6. How long should the performance video be?
3–5 minutes is perfect. Just enough to show us what you’re about.
7. When will we know if we’ve been shortlisted?
Shortlisted finalists will be contacted by Friday 12th September and invited to perform live at the event.
8. What happens if we are shortlisted?
You’ll be given a slot to perform live at Music on the Moor. The crowd’s reaction will decide the winner!
9. Will there be equipment provided?
Basic backline will be provided (e.g., PA system, mics, DI boxes). You’ll need to bring your own instruments (e.g., guitar, keyboard, etc).
10. Do we need adult supervision?
Yes—if you're under 16, you’ll need a parent/guardian present on the day. Under 18s should have someone reachable in case of emergency.
11. Will travel expenses be covered?
No, we’re unable to cover travel or accommodation costs.
12. What do winners get?
Winners will be crowned 'Starlight on the Moor' champions at the event, and given performance photos, and social media promo. Most importantly, bragging rights!
13. Can we sell merch or promote our socials?
Yes! You’re welcome to hand out flyers or mention your socials during your set.
